Starmer on the line as UK holds "most important local election in decades"

Keir Starmer isn’t on the ballot, but the U.K. prime minister’s future is on the line in a special election on June 18. Voters in the Makerfield district of northwest England are electing a new lawmaker. The leading contender is Andy Burnham, the current Labour mayor of Greater Manchester and the favourite to be the next prime minister. FRANCE 24's Benedicte Paviot explains why.
